A community that can increasingly sustain itself.
Not a new program. Not a new agency. A way for the community we already have to work as one.
Our purpose
Marion County As One exists to continuously increase the community's capacity to meet its own needs.
It does this by helping the community understand how it is doing, see the needs and strengths already present, coordinate the institutions serving it, strengthen effective existing systems, and develop new community capacity where important gaps remain.
Who participates
Everyone keeps their own identity, authority, governance, responsibilities, and mission.
Joining means participating in the shared community picture and in the specific relationships, opportunities, or activities the person or organization chooses. It does not transfer blanket authority to Marion County As One or to another participant.
Residents & Households
Residents and households voluntarily contribute to the community picture and decide what personal information, connections, services, plans, and activities they authorize.
Churches
Churches provide faith, belonging, pastoral care, service, leadership, and community capacity. A church's person-level visibility is limited to members who choose the connection and to the permissions those members authorize.
Businesses
Businesses provide services, employment, ownership, investment, supply capacity, and pathways for the community's economy to grow.
Nonprofits
Nonprofits contribute specialized missions, services, programs, relationships, and delivery capacity.
Workforce
Workforce participants include people building skills, credentials, careers, professional experience, and ownership capacity needed by the community.
For foundations and funders
Foundations and funders can see documented community gaps and coordinate contributions through agreed governance and funding terms. Funding does not create blanket authority over residents or participating institutions.
